This is now being used as our program's mascot and sits each day on our table. We read the book and introduced the WHATIF MONSTER and had children do a project where they drew their own WHATIF monster and shared their fears, concerns whatever they wanted. Our group then drew themselves and what they would say to the monster and this led to such a great group discussion. A new way of teaching and reassuring children thanks to these teaching tools. I want to add it also gets many cuddles during the day too.
I am thrilled with my purchase of these colorful bookmarks for children in our Afterschool Program. They are well made and the empowering comments are so uplifting.
My daughter, age 7, has never been a very confident reader, although she does love her growing book collection. Cordelia was her most favorite book, I got it for her when she was 2, and we have it memorized from how often we've read it to her. Now that she's getting into chapter books, I knew I'd have to get her this book. We were captivated by page 1. Miss Michelle does such a great job painting beautiful pictures with her words, Maddie was literally at the edge of the bed listening or reading along. This Book made us laugh and cry. We had conversations about the book and wondered what was going to happen next. My daughter truly believes this book was written just for her. To see my Maddie so excited and engaged about a book was so heart warming and I knew that this was truly something special. We're having a hard time finding another book to read that's just as entertaining.
We love reading about Herman and his friends. The story is a great example for both kids and adults about how we can deal with jealousy by spreading love instead!
My kids needed soft pencil cases for science class. This is my son's first year at the "big school" so a Monster case was absolutely perfect to help him feel comfortable going to specials classes without his primary teacher. My daughter is a little older, but just loves the Monsters.
