These wonderful books show children how to deal with their fears and doubts ( fears we all had/have as children) without condescending to them. The WhatIf monster is a friend I wish I had when I was little. I’m very glad that WhatIf is here for my little ones!
Michelle sent a handwritten thank you card and a personal message in one of her books. That little touch meant so much! I’m a sign language interpreter so to find out there was a Deaf character was amazing! We also are in the process to foster to adopt, so these books came at a great time! We are really trying to broaden our family’s view on the world and these books are an incredible resources for that. These are the perfect level books for my 7 (almost 8) year old son to read to us as well.
My 8 year old son has never been one to choose to pick up a book, despite having a very full home library. Ever since these entered our home, he’s been excited to read again and has taken to reading aloud to me during our drives to and from school. I love the diverse characters, stories of friendship, and using the Whatif Game to conquer everyday fears.
Love them! Especially as a parent of kids from hard places. Excellent for developing social/emotional skills and coping with new situations. The chapter books give is a frame of reference for more open conversations.
I bought this series for my school library. The students really like them and understand the feelings of the characters.
